Helen was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in October of 2020. Because the disease is hard to detect, it was already advanced. She fought the good fight, and passed away on May 17th, 2021.

  • Ovarian cancer is the 5th most common cancer among women.
  • 1 in 70 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer during their lifetime.
  • It is the deadliest of the gynecological cancers, largely due to the fact that it is hard to catch in its early stages.
  • Routine pelvic exams only find 1 in 10,000 ovarian cancers in patients without symptoms
  • There is no screening for ovarian cancer before symptoms develop, which allows the disease to advance to late stages before detection. About 70% are not detected until advanced stages.

Our mission is to spread awareness, to contribute to research that will hopefully lead to earlier detection, and to provide support for families battling ovarian cancer.
